Well I have tried all the sugestions you all offered, but no luck. Everyone says either sell or wait until they foreclose and go into a Chap 7. I guess I really can't beleive I am going to lose my house for doing my Volunteer time in service.
Bill,
Try some of the 'realtors' in your area. Sometime (the good ones) KNOW of different programs that the average 'lay' person does not know of.
Also, have you talked to JAG on base?
Good luck.
OK I'm gonna try this and see if anyone knows something I don't. I am in the Guard, I had a great paying job until I went to Ft Rucker for WOC School the to WOBC school in Ft Lee.5 months away from my job. I called my employer to tell him I would be back to work in a couple weeks. But he told me not to bother because they already hired someone to replace me. So Ia sked him if he could put that in writing and send it to me, he said yes. I figured if he did I had a case.He never did, he probably found out what he did was against the law. So here I am with a house note of 2000.00 a month. Thank GOD the military found a way to get me on Active Duty. So now all I could do is jump into a Chapt 13 so save from losing my house. Then I fell for the old AMERIQUEST SCAM. get out of the the 13 and we will work with you.NOT!!!! Now i am worried any day I will get the served the foreclosure.I have heard that if I can find someone that will but the house and rent it to me for a year to reestablish I could go back and use my VA loan. OK so who do I ask if I don't have any rich relatives or friends?
Anybody have any Ideas please let me know?
Bill

Hello, We are a small family living in Canton Pennsylvania and are in our forty's and fiftys. Our daughter is our only child and she is 10 yo. Right now we are renting a one bedroom apartment until we can buy our home. We are tired of renting and paying someones mortgage off. I was in construction until I got disabled with several problems. We found a home for $58000 with 100% financing but need $2000 for closing costs and fees.
If there is someone who can help with our problem we would be very greatful.
I live in Canton PA, and trying to find a way to buy our first home. I can get the mortgage OK but the closing and out of pocket expenses are a problem since we are on disability income and cant find the help we need. We found a Home for $58000 and need $2000 for out of pocket expenses. If any one can help us out it would be a Godsend to us.
May God Bless you,
Herbert Lubitz

Wanda, first of all, I don’t think that you plea sounds selfish. We all have different personal problems and they are serious to us, regardless how they compare to others. In fact, the problem that you are having is quite serious and it is not an isolated case. Luckily for me, I never had such a problem and that is way I had no idea where to start for eventual solution of such a problem. I tried to make some research for you and I noticed that there are a lot of publications on “how to prevent”, but just a few “what to do if it happened”.
While hiring attorney is the first thing to come to my mind, it may prove rather expensive and lengthily procedure. I would start first with the credit agencies (all three of them at once). I would pull my credit reports and I would identify the fraudulent records and institutions where they were made e.g. banks, credit cards etc. I would check carefully the section with my addresses, phones and names. The thief most likely would change partially this information. Next, I would call each of the identified institutions and I would request detailed records of all transactions for the period in which I am suspecting fraudulent activities. Then I shall analyze these records and I shall identify every transaction that is not made with my authorization. I would create a separate record with these transactions including short notes per transaction where I have been at this particular time. I am sure, it will not be that difficult to spot discrepancies – one cannot be at two places at the same time. Once I am done with this work, I will be ready to talk to credit agencies and to the banks.
First, I would call all the credit agencies and notify them for the problem. I would try to straight the record with them and freeze it. I will definitely ask them to help me further. Next, I shall call of the banks and credit cards in concern and I shall request to see my signature per transaction. I shall inform them for the problem and I would submit the report I made about these transactions.
I can imagine, that the banks may not be too cooperative in this case, but keep in mind – they are insured and you are not suppose to recover funds fraudulently used by somebody else. After all, in this case you are the victim not the wrong doer. All those institutions to the great extend are guilty since they are also accountable for protecting your identity. Be patient and prepare yourself for long fight. Unfortunately, the way I gather, there is not quick solution for these cases.
Below I am including the links to the articles that I found on this subject. I hope it will help. I will keep an eye on this problem and if something else comes to my mind, I will post a message.
Note: I started this page as a comment to Wanda, but I think the problem is concerning all of us. I encourage anybody that might have some ideas, suggestions, or past experience about this matter to post on this page. You never know when you may need such a resource…
Yesterday Cheri posted the question “… why do people get pledges and other don’t”. I was rather surprised by this question. I was hoping that my explanation “What is a pledge?” is clear enough and the members will easily get the idea how the pledge system could be used. Apparently, that is not the case, so I will try now to elaborate on the subject.
Perhaps, I should start with the basics – what in fact is Aidpage? Aidpage is a widely popular community place where people meet each other, talk about variety of subjects, express and define themselves, seek help if they are in need, and help each other with advice, things, money or any other way they could figure. In other words – Aidpage could be regarded as a self-helping tool where people aid people as Emil wrote in his “What is Aidpage”.
Yes! We do believe that there are many compassioned people that would extend a helping hand if they know that someone is in trouble. By creating Aidpage and letting everyone to self-express we are trying to accomplish exactly this goal – let the people that can help know, what help is actually needed. That is why we are offering Aidpage free to everybody even though its creation and maintenance costs millions. We are happy to see that Aidpage is developing into a live “bottom up” reflective map of real life social problems.
Keeping in mind all this, we created the pledge system on Aidpage as an additional tool for organized help - to used for tasks that cannot be accomplished by a single person. However, it could be used for variety of endeavors regardless how small or large they are. We have created a multifunctional tool - you will decide how to apply it.
Everybody can start a pledge and try to organize a group of people to accomplish a certain task. That includes pledges started by the beneficiary him/herself. If the members would like to be a part of the solution of the proposed task (cause), they will sign up.
The pledges could be monetary and non-monetary. The monetary type is rather clear – certain amount of money is needed for a cause and the pledge system is used as a fundraising tool. The non-monetary type – simply a tool for organizing groups of people to do something. Do what? Use your imagination… Think about it - the possibilities are virtually unlimited. Just a few examples:
I will stop smocking only if XXX other people do the same.
I will not use my car Mondays for 6 months if XXX other people do the same.
I will donate my old PC to the local school if XXX other people do the same.
I will write a letter about “this and that” to the President if XXX other people do the same.
Get organized. Be active. Help and be helped.
There are no “they” – just us. If we don’t help each other, nobody else will.
--
If something about the pledges is still not clear, please, post a comment on this page.
